This autumn, Ramsgate is embracing its darker side…

A new festival is coming to Ramsgate this October, from Friday 23rd, through to 1st November, bringing together ten days to experience the town’s remarkable heritage, creativity and independent businesses for a celebration of all things autumnal, atmospheric and just a little bit Gothic.

Ramsgate comes alive this October with a vibrant mix of art, music, food, water sport and seasonal spookiness – headlined by the brand new, nine day Ramsgate Autumn Festival.

The Art & Music highlights include the East Kent Artists Open House and the ‘Margate’ Rock Festival, which temporarily relocates to The Granville Theatre.

September is a special time in Ramsgate, with Music and Culture taking central stage. The main musical event is the Festival of Sound, which incorporates the ‘Busk until Dusk’ and the ‘Sonic Trail’ events and the big culture events are Pugin Week and the Heritage Open Days Festival.

10TH – 13TH SEPTEMBER : Not long now until the ninth Festival of Sound returns to Ramsgate with a schedule full of activities for all the family – most of which are free to attend!

Follow the Sonic Trail of sound art around the town and don’t miss Busk Until Dusk as 20 music acts perform at 14 pubs and bars.

August is the peak of summer in Ramsgate, offering the town’s warmest weather, bustling beaches, and a diverse lineup of activities.

Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls… step right up and join us for a day of colour, creativity and community as Ramsgate Day transforms the town centre into a giant circus-inspired celebration on Saturday 15 August.

July and August have a wonderful array of live performances and shows for all the family – several of which are FREE!

Ramsgate has it’s flagship sailing event this month ‘Ramsgate Week’. Hosted by the Royal Temple Yacht Club, this historic annual sailing regatta features intense racing off the coast and lively celebrations throughout the town.

June is a fun time to visit Ramsgate. There’s all sorts of events on. Including a Pirates Festival, the Great Bucket & Spade Run, Comicon at the Museum, a Monster Truck Motorfest in Manston and more…

From 15th May to 28th June, the historic harbour at Ramsgate will become the setting for a powerful and moving tribute as Standing with Giants installs 338 life-sized silhouettes along the quayside, honouring the extraordinary courage and sacrifice of those involved in the Dunkirk evacuation of 1940.

There’s so much going on in Ramsgate in May, especially around Half term (23rd -31st May). You also have two Bank Holidays to enjoy this month, so why not book a long weekend stay, there’s lots of different accommodation options in Ramsgate.

This May, Ramsgate Royal Harbour becomes the focal point for remembrance, as Operation Dynamo: The Return to Ramsgate brings the story of Dunkirk back to life.

Easter’s coming! Events include an Easter Beer Festival at GADDS’ The Ramsgate Brewery on the 3rd and 4th of April. Easter Sunday events include the very first Handmade & Vintage Fair of the year at Pier Yard in Ramsgate Harbour,Manston Airfield Market (Easter Special) with Face Painting, a visit from the Easter Bunny and free chocolate for the kids and a Gong Bath at Gather&.

Ramsgate Through the Senses returns for its 5th year, offering a delightful programme of events to rejuvenate the body, inspire the mind and tantalise one’s tastebuds!

This is the month the clock’s spring forward an hour and ‘Spring’ officially begins. Ramsgate prepares for Spring with ‘The Great Ramsgate Spring Clean’. This successful community-led initiative fosters significant local pride and the amazing work from the volunteers helps to make Ramsgate a great place to live, work and play for everyone.

The big event this month is the finale of the Ramsgate Winter Festival on the 14th of February. There will be Art workshops ‘It’s a Love Thing’ hosted by Arts in Ramsgate and Discovery Planet. Ramsgate Town Council will be launching a loyalty campaign ‘We are Ramsgate – 20 for Ramsgate’. All happening at Ramsgate Space in Albert Court.

The Festive season may be over but the Ramsgate Winter Festival is still ongoing, running a series of events in the lead up to the closing community celebration in February. The festival was created by and for the people of Ramsgate to light up the dark winter nights and make glorious memories that last a lifetime, as part of the festival Light Up Ramsgate invites you to wander at your own pace and discover intimate moments of colour, play, and reflection across the town.
