This autumn, Ramsgate is embracing its darker side…
A new festival is coming to Ramsgate this October, from Friday 23rd, through to 1st November, bringing together ten days to experience the town’s remarkable heritage, creativity and independent businesses for a celebration of all things autumnal, atmospheric and just a little bit Gothic.
Ramsgate Autumn Festival will take inspiration from the town itself: its Gothic architecture and Pugin heritage, literary connections, historic streets, underground spaces and, of course, the darker evenings of autumn.
Expect an eclectic programme of live music, literature and poetry, arts and culture, heritage, trails, talks, performances, workshops and special events, alongside plenty of opportunities to explore Ramsgate’s shops, cafés, pubs and restaurants.
There’ll be a touch of the unexpected too, with ghosts and folklore, vintage and curious traditions, Halloween happenings and some suitably dark surprises along the way.
Whether you’re drawn to Dark Academia, Gothic architecture, local history, books and poetry, live music, or simply love Ramsgate in autumn, there’ll be plenty to discover.
Around Ramsgate
The festival won’t be confined to one venue. Events and activities will take place in locations across Ramsgate, encouraging visitors to explore the town and discover some of its extraordinary buildings, businesses and hidden corners along the way.
Local shops, cafés, restaurants, pubs and other businesses will also be getting involved, with special festival offers (dark deals!), menus and events throughout the festival.
