Michael’s Bookshop is an independent secondhand bookshop. It serves as the largest bookshop in the Isle of Thanet, stocking between 25,000 and 30,000 volumes across over 100 bookcases.
The shop includes a dedicated children’s corner complete with seating and a reading table.
Books, sea air and a brand-new festival. The Ramsgate Literary Festival runs from the 23rd to the 30th of May 2026 at ‘The Book Hotel at The Falstaff’ in Addington Street.

First recorded as a public house in 1801, The Falstaff has stood watch over Ramsgate’s West Cliff through storm and sunshine for over two hundred years.
