Launching our Virtual Shopping Campaign
As we find ourselves in the midst of another lockdown with a distinct possibility of it being extended, I wanted to spread the word about many of our Ramsgate business owners who are offering a virtual service during this period of uncertainty. I am sure I don’t need to tell you about the benefits of shopping locally and how much it helps our economy and I think this is more important now than it ever has been.
Some of our ‘non-essential’ businesses have developed online shops through websites, others are using facebook or instagram to promote their wares and are contactable via messenger or phone. Many are offering free local delivery or a click and collect service.
For our non-essential businesses, the period leading up to Christmas is their busiest time and gets them through the rest of the winter season and without that, they are destined to struggle over the coming months or worse, close down permanently! So please, before you hit the Amazon icon, check out our new virtual shopping map and support the businesses on your doorstep so that when we come out of this awful time in our lives, our town still has hope of recovering.
Our map also includes some of the independent businesses that are able to keep their doors open, including butchers and bakers so that they too can benefit from some extra trade and we will also be launching a map to highlight our restaurants that are offering a takeaway service whilst they are unable to serve food in their usual manner.
We have incredible independent shops offering unique gifts for all the family and I am sure you won’t be disappointed with the fantastic service and quality of products on offer so please take a look at our new map, hit the full screen button so you can view all the available stores and enjoy your virtual shopping!
