Love the Town you Live in!  (and spend a fiver while you’re at it!)

In true Ramsgate style, our independent businesses are embracing the Fiver Fest Fortnight with passion for the town and their customers!

Starting on 9th October and running for a fortnight, over 30 local businesses (and counting!) are offering fabulous deals to entice old and new customers to fall in love with their town.

We have offers from bakeries, cafés, hotels, galleries, salons and indie shops, all of which are looking forward to seeing more people through their doors.  Our indies have pulled out all the stops offering craft packs, candles, paintings, food deals, doggy treats and pampering products and plenty of Christmas ideas too for those super organised people!

This is part of a national campaign, dreamed up by the Totally Locally team who run fiver fest fortnights every 4 months and luckily for us, Thanet District Council’s High Street consultant, Sharon Davies pitched for some of the Welcome Back Funding to be spent on the promotional campaign, with 6 areas in Thanet taking part. 

The idea of spending a Fiver is part of the Totally Locally mantra, that if every adult in your town, spent £5 a week in a local indie, it would contribute millions of pounds to the local economy each year. In Ramsgate, we have over 30,000 adults so this would equate to just shy of £8 million a year!  So we have bunting, banners and posters a-plenty dotted throughout the town enticing people in to bag themselves a bargain!
