Government Acre
Perched on the cliff-top, Government Acre is a scenic 1.7-acre grass lawn bordered by the West Cliff Promenade. A central raised ridge naturally divides the space into two usable areas, with perimeter hedging providing essential shelter from coastal winds. As the town’s primary outdoor event space, it hosts major summer community festivals, fairs, and circuses. Historic stone boundary markers from its original government designation remain visible along the edges of the grass, blending heritage with wide, sweeping sea views.
