Ramsgate has it’s flagship sailing event this month – ‘Ramsgate Week‘. Hosted by the Royal Temple Yacht Club, this annual sailing regatta widely renowned as the ‘friendly regatta’ features racing off the coast and celebrations throughout the town. Other events this month include :-

The School Summer holidays start this month on the 22nd of July. The Children Under 16 – Things to do Map and the Tourist Attractions Map below are full of ideas to keep the kids occupied during the long summer break.

Ramsgate Day
Pegwell & West Cliff Open Gardens
On the 5th of July you have the opportunity to visit three stunning gardens and enjoy an array of refreshments. Pegwell & West Cliff Open Gardens are part of the National Gardens Scheme.
Skirmish at the Museum
On the 11th and 12th of July the RAF Manston History Museum grounds are taken over by living history groups spanning various eras. You will see displays, historic vehicles, and realistic mock skirmishes or battles.
Thanet Vintage Bus Running Day
The Thanet Vintage Bus Running Day takes place on the 12th of July. It is a free event where you can ride classic buses on routes across Thanet, with all services radiating from the Spitfire & Hurricane Memorial Museum.

Costumed Guided Walks
Costumed Guided Walks (Town Centre, Harbour, East Cliff, West Cliff Walks) start on July
Every Wednesday in July – Regency Ramsgate: The Jane Austen Tour (Madeira Gardens).
Every Thursday in July – Skulduggery Tour of Ramsgate (The Obelisk, Royal Harbour).
Ramsgate Week
Ramsgate Week runs from the 19th to 24th of July. You can check the racing schedule, review documentation, or find entry and accommodation details on the official Ramsgate Week website.
Ramsgate Carnival
On the weekend of 25th and 26th of July we have the Ramsgate Carnival and Fair.
The Fair is at Government Acre is on both days with fairground and entertainment, including the Giant’s Parade, on the Saturday afternoon.
The Carnival Parade is on the Sunday, setting off from Government Acre at 4pm.
Fuel Fest
On the 25th of July Fuel Fest will be at Manston Airport. There will be Non-stop live drifting with professional drivers, ride-alongs, and 1/4-mile drag racing down the landing strip. Car Show and a live concert on the festival stage, special guest appearances, and famous movie cars. Co-hosted by Cody Walker, the event benefits Reach Out WorldWide (ROWW), the nonprofit founded by Paul Walker.

The Ramsgate Music Hall is hosting several events this month to keep you entertained throughout July (see below).

Hotels, Bars, Pubs, Cafés, Clubs and more

Comedy & Cabaret clubs
There’s the Ramsgate Comedy Club (Chuckl.) at the Granville theatre, Wilson’s Comedy Club at the Queen’s Head and Vaults Comedy at the Ramsgate Arts Club. The Alley Bar also hosts cabaret acts and comedians.
Writing, poetry and book clubs
There are book clubs at The Bedford Inn, The Ramsgate Arts Club and the Perico Lounge and writing groups at the Artillery Arms and The Book Hotel at The Falstaff which also has a regular Friday Book & Bar nights where the Book Shop is open into the evening.
Quiz nights
There are regular quiz nights at The Book Hotel at The Falstaff , The Bellevue Tavern, The Churchill Tavern, the San Clu Hotel, Violets and the Perico Lounge and a monthly live music quiz at the Queens Head on the 9th of July.

Exhibitions this month at local Art Galleries, Pop-up Galleries and Hotels/Bars/Cafes with Gallery space include :-
- ‘Rituals of Repair‘ – exhibition by Amelia Mullins at Ramsgate Arts Club (25 June – 16 August).
- ‘Light Puzzle’ – exhibition by Caroline List at The House Hotel (3 July – 31 August).
- ‘You never know when it will explode’ – VR film by Helga Dorethea Fannon at Hold Creative Spaces (5 – 7 July).
- ‘Remembering Mum’ – exhibitions by Lisa McGuinness and Lizzie Fright at Hold Creative Spaces (9 – 12 July).
- ‘Summer Art Exhibition’ at St George’s Church (10 – 19 July).
- ‘Still’ – Exhibition by Eve Stickler at Hold Creative Space (24 – 26 July).

The Open Top Bus
(Route 69)
The Open Top bus service is running every weekend and daily from the 22nd of July.
The route runs from Minnis Bay to Ramsgate via Westbrook, Margate and Broadstairs.

Gallery Trail
Public Art Trail
This Map provides the route for a self guided walk to view the Public Art in Ramsgate, the trail show where to find Sculptures, Murals and Installations (permanent and temporary). It also shows how you can incorporate the Ramsgate Raven Trail into the Public Art walk and highlights Ellington Park which contains several chainsaw carvings that use old tree stumps.
