Can I walk dogs on all the beaches?
| Beach | Important Notes & Restrictions |
|---|---|
| East Cliff Beach | Dogs are welcome off their lead at any time of the year on this quieter, scenic stretch. Convenient paid parking is available nearby at the Marina Esplanade car park. |
| Western Undercliff Beach | Dogs are welcome off their leads all year round on the main sandy stretch located east of the tidal pool. However, to protect local wildlife, dogs are strictly prohibited from entering the tidal paddling pool, the western chalk reef, and the mudflats, which form part of the National Nature Reserve. The beach can disappear entirely at high tide, so checking local tide times before visiting is essential if you want to sit on the sand. Click here for latest tide information. |
| Ramsgate Main Sands | Dogs are strictly banned between 1st May and 30th September. Outside of these summer dates, the Main Sands open up completely for long, scenic winter walks right beside the promenade. |

Can I walk dogs in Pegwell Bay Country Park/Nature Reserve?
Yes, but with restrictions. When arriving in the car park dogs must be kept on leads. They are not permitted in the play area.
Dogs are allowed off the lead in the designated dog zone but due to the sensitive nature of this important National Nature Reserve, they must always be kept under close control.
Please clear up after your dog and put waste in the bins provided.
