Ramsgate has launched an Accessibility Window Sticker Campaign to help wheelchair users, individuals with limited mobility, older visitors, and families with pushchairs identify accessible local venues at a glance.

We’re really into our walks and trails here in Ramsgate, so you’ll find plenty to do without a car. We also have an excellent bus service.

Tell me about the Ramsgate Week Regatta and Yacht Racing in Ramsgate
Ramsgate Week Regatta is an annual, friendly sailing regatta. The flagship yachting events in Ramsgate, hosted by the Royal Temple Yacht Club in July.
During Ramsgate Week there is racing for various cruiser and IRC classes, alongside lively social events, live music, and food in the harbour. The racing takes place off shore.
Regular Season Racing
- Sunday IRC and Cruiser Class Racing : Organized by the Royal Temple Yacht Club running weekly from April through October.
- Weekend & Midweek Series : Regular short-course, coastal, and offshore races take place on weekends from March through October, alongside midweek evening races running from June through August.
CYCLING
Is Ramsgate good for Cycling Routes?
Yes, Ramsgate is an excellent base for cycling, offering access to iconic coastal routes, flat traffic-free paths, and rich historical trails.
We have a whole corner of the coast to conquer by bike and several family-friendly routes to free-wheel along. So whether you take on one of our trails, or take on a bike tour, there’s something for everyone, and so much to explore on two wheels.

| Viking Coastal Trail | A 32-mile (51.4 km) circular loop around the Isle of Thanet. It takes 4 to 5.5 hours to cycle, covering Margate, Broadstairs, and Ramsgate along flat sea walls and traffic-free promenades. | Pier to Pier Trail | A 13-mile (20.9 km) one-way linear route from Ramsgate to Deal. It takes about 90 minutes to cycle, passing Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve and medieval Sandwich using dedicated paths and quiet lanes. |

Can I see the local seal colony?
Yes, Ramsgate has a resident seal colony located nearby at the mouth of the River Stour near Shellness Point on the edge of the Pegwell Bay Nature Reserve.
You can view the seals during low tide when they haul out onto the mudflats and sandbanks to rest and sunbathe. Several local boat tour operators run dedicated wildlife excursions straight from Ramsgate Royal Harbour.

Can I walk dogs in Pegwell Bay?
The area is well sign posted. Dogs are not allowed at any time on the Mud Flats and Salt March or in the old hoverport area located just below the Viking Ship.
Can I walk dogs in Pegwell Bay Country Park/Nature Reserve?
Yes, but with restrictions. When arriving in the car park dogs must be kept on leads. They are not permitted in the play area.
Dogs are allowed off the lead in the designated dog zone but due to the sensitive nature of this important National Nature Reserve, they must always be kept under close control.
Please clear up after your dog and put waste in the bins provided.
