Maderia Walk Waterfall leading up to Albion Place Gardens

The Madeira Walk Waterfall is a striking man-made artificial cascade built inside a dramatically engineered chalk gorge. Steep banks of the gorge are shored up using historic, stratified artificial Pulhamite rock.

Perched immediately above the waterfall on the clifftop is Albion Place Gardens, a triangular public park offering panoramic views over Ramsgate’s Royal Harbour.

The waterfall and gardens are one of the most picturesque parts of Ramsgate.

War Memorial :

The Albion Gardens War Memorial (also known as the Destiny Peace Memorial) is located within the gardens. It’s a unique, Grade II listed monument, the centrepiece is a solitary, draped female figure crafted by the prominent British sculptor Gilbert Bayes.

Ramsgate Raven :

Look out for the colourful ‘Stained Glass Raven‘ sitting above the waterfall. It’s one of the Ravens on the Ramsgate Raven Trail.

Costumed Walks :

Albion Place Gardens are the start point for the East Cliff Costumed Walks (July and August).

Kents Steps (Pugin Steps) :

The steps on Maderia Walk opposite Albion Place Gardens lead down to the Ramsgate Royal Harbour.
