Michael’s Bookshop
Michael’s Bookshop is an independent secondhand bookshop. It serves as the largest bookshop in the Isle of Thanet, stocking between 25,000 and 30,000 volumes across over 100 bookcases.
The shop carries a vast, carefully categorised selection of general fiction and non-fiction books priced to compete with major online retailers. It specializes heavily in the heritage of the Isle of Thanet.
It stocks, prints, and publishes over 200 of its own local history books and historic maps covering Ramsgate, Margate, and Broadstairs.
Visitors can sell books over the counter for cash or opt for store exchange vouchers, which generally offer a higher trade-in value.
The shop includes a dedicated children’s corner complete with seating and a reading table.
Accessibility :
The shop floor is heavily crowded with over 100 bookcases and narrow walking paths, making navigation with a wheelchair, mobility scooter, or large pram very difficult or impossible in many sections.

Dogs are not allowed inside the premises.
