Ramsgate: Top 5 Autumn Spots

As the nights draw in and the leaves start to fall, there’s no better time to enjoy the beautiful town of Ramsgate. With its sandy beaches, Royal Harbour and glorious parks, there’s so many wonderful places to see in this charming seaside town.

Without further ado, we countdown our favourite spots to visit in Ramsgate during the Autumn:

1. The Royal Harbour

The heart of the the town is the beautiful Royal Harbour. Filled with luxury boats and bustling surroundings, it’s the perfect place to breathe in the fresh sea air. Warm up with a hot drink in one of the many local cafes or restaurants, or take a short stroll to find the beautiful Georgian Lighthouse and Lifeboat station.

2. Ellington Park

Ellington park is a great place to soak up the sights of nature or enjoy a refreshing walk with the dog. The historic park has a play area, a beloved Victorian bandstand, and a charming little peace garden with ponds and garden figurines. With golden and amber trees, the park truly comes to life during the Autumn.

3. The Westcliff Arcade

The Westcliff arcade is the perfect place to grab a bite to eat on a chilly Autumn day or evening. Enjoy a hearty meal in one of the many boutique restaurants whilst admiring views of the Harbour. Whether you’re looking for a romantic evening or simply just to catch up with friends and family, the Arcade is sure to have something to please everyone’s appetite.

4. Ramsgate Main Sands

There really isn’t anything like taking a stroll across the beach on a crisp Autumn morning. Watch the waves crash against the pier wall and look out over the sea to catch a glimpse of Sandwich. On a clear day, you can even see France! With miles of beaches stretching down towards Broadstairs there’s plenty of space to play fetch with the dog and enjoy a long healthy walk.

5. King George VI Park

Just a short stroll across the promenade is King George VI Park. Surrounded by woodland, it’s a great place for the whole family to enjoy. Nestled within the trees is a large play area and the beautiful Italianate Glasshouse, perfect for having an afternoon tea and scone after a day of exploring.
