Churchill Tavern

The Churchill Tavern

Over the years, The Churchill Tavern has transformed from being the site of the Isabella Baths (1816), a boarding house and the Paragon Hotel (1868), the Van Gogh Pub (1961), Steptoe’s Pub (1983) and finally to it’s current state as The Churchill Tavern (1988). The Churchill Tavern is now known as “the best country pub in town”. It isn’t just us who think so, we’ve won the CAMRA pub of the year award for Thanet twice now.

The Churchill take great pride in its great British pub food.

The menu at The Churchill Tavern is rooted very much in our ideals of being the best of British in taste, quality and value. There might be the odd adopted favourite here and there but the menu is based on traditional meals.

We are famous for our traditional roasts. Week in, week out we are extremely busy during our Sunday lunches. We book out quickly so please reserve early to guarantee your spot and see what all the fuss is about.

Nothing sums up our restaurant more than our lunch menu. We offer a range of options that are great value and great quality all week long.

Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Visit our Breakfast Club from Monday to Saturday and start your day in the best possible way.
