Discover the natural wonders of the Kent coast across our two local beaches.
Let your smaller explorers roam and marvel at the marine life along Ramsgate’s shore – from the seashells and mermaids’ purses to be found along the sands, to the rockpools teeming with crabs, fish and waving anemones.
You can join guided sessions with experts from Thanet Coast Project or hire your own Coastal Explorers pack from our Visitor Information Centre – both for £5 or less!

Book a fun-filled “Seashore Safari” to explore our rockpools or a “Beach Scavenger Hunt” with our local experts – perfect for kids from 4–11 years (with accompanying adult).

Net? Check. Magnifying glass? Check. Factsheets? Check. Get all the gear you need to keep your smaller explorers busy! Hire a kit for the day from our Visitor Information Centre for only £5.

Our rockpools can be explored for free, all year round – all it takes is wellies and a sense of adventure! The rocky shore at our Western Undercliff beach is ideal – just be sure to check timings and arrive for low tide. All we ask is that you leave only footprints and respect our Seashore Code.
Open: All year round – free on road parking.
