Ramsgate Tunnels celebrate 80th Anniversary
To celebrate the 80th anniversary of Ramsgate Tunnels opening in 1939 and the 5th anniversary of their re-opening in 2014, the tunnels team is putting on a series of events taking place throughout May and June including various talks, special tours including;

25th May: Trace the route of the Ramsgate Deep Level Shelters both overground and underground on a guided walk starting at 4.30pm at the Sailors Church, Military Road. Advance booking required and details are at https://ramsgatetunnels.merlintickets.co.uk/product/EOU000002
2nd June; Official 80th anniversary celebration features a free event with a ‘Salute to the 40s’ including the Dad’s Army Variety Show featuring WW2 favourites George Formby, Max Miller, Frank Sinatra, Gracie Fields and the UK’s No.1 tribute to Vera Lynn ‘Lorrie Brown’. Plus displays and stalls. Inside and outside the Tunnels at Marina Esplanade all day. Events start at 10am with stalls and live entertainment from 1pm.
