Macies Bar
Macies prides itself on being a genuine community local where a diverse mix of generations come to socialise. It’s exceptionally family-friendly and welcoming to solo drinkers, regulars, and travelers passing through on their way to the nearby railway station. It also includes a small, cozy outdoor beer garden/smoking area at the back.
Activities :
The pub features a free pool table, dartboards, foosball, and board games. They are also known for hosting drag bingo, and lively community events like a weekly meat raffle. For more information on activities, see the Visit Ramsgate Monthly Events Calendar.
Music :
Live music at weekends.
Dog friendly :
Yes, your pup will fit right into the relaxed, bustling atmosphere.
Children policy :
Family friendly.
Accessibity :
The pub features a wheelchair-accessible entrance directly from the High Street. The main floor plan and seating areas are level, making it easy to navigate with a wheelchair, mobility scooter, or pram. However, like many historic properties in the area, the building has a few limitations, there are no designated accessible parking spaces directly at the venue, and the restroom facilities are not designed for wheelchair users.
Historic Interest :
Built in 1908 as the Freemasons Arms, was more recently known as the Jekyll & Hyde. The pub has panels of leaded stained glass above the bar advertising the brewery George Beer & Co. It seems likely these have been there since the pub was built.
