WADERS, WETLANDS & MORE
Pegwell Bay nature reserve

Spot elegant waders from curlews to black tailed godwits, avocets and golden plovers at this internationally important wetland haven for birds.

Bird hides are available for your enjoyment, along with toilets, car park and a café.

Open: All year round – car park closes at dusk.

Or take a tour with wildlife expert Keith Ross, who can spot more birds overhead –  from peregrines and kestrels, to cuckoos and woodpeckers.

Kingfisher Royal Harbour tour

Where else would a kingfisher spend the winter but in a royal harbour? Our local expert will help you spot these majestic birds amid the splendour of our boats.

CHALK & WALK
Monkton Nature Reserve

Spot kestrels, buzzards, jackdaws and turtle doves at this reclaimed quarry that has become a unique environment for hundreds of flora and fauna species that thrive in chalk-based habitats.

Open: All year round on weekends, and some days through the week – check timetable for exact hours.
