Ramsgate Town Shed
The Ramsgate Town Shed is a community workshop space for woodwork and DIY projects. It is open to adults aged 18 and over to share skills, work on projects, and socialize. It’s free to attend (utilizing a donation or subscription system to support space costs).
Activities :
- Personal Projects : Attendees bring in, repair, or build their own items using the workshop’s collection of donated tools and equipment.
- Community Building Projects : Volunteers work together on shared items designed to improve the town, “such as benches and planters”.
- Skill Sharing : Experienced “Shed Head” volunteers guide newcomers through tool use, woodwork techniques, and general tinkering.

Accessibility :
The space is inclusive, disability-positive, and neurodivergence-friendly. However, navigate carefully inside as it is an active workspace filled with workbenches and raw timber.
Dog friendly :
No. Policy and space constraints mean dogs are generally not allowed inside the main workshop due to safety reasons. Because it is a functioning DIY and woodwork environment with active machinery, flying sawdust, and sharp tools, a workshop setup makes it physically hazardous for pets.
