Ramsgate Sea Garden

The Ramsgate Sea Garden is a reawakening of an earthworks and ecologically conscious garden created in 2007. It is a community project, established by the Ramsgate Sea Garden Group and local volunteers to transform a coastal wasteland into an idyllic area for quiet reflection, featuring plants that thrive in harsh, windy conditions and a restored “Spiral” sculpture. Volunteers typically meet there on Thursday mornings.

The spiral, created from local materials, is the garden’s visual focus. In the garden you will find wild violets, artichokes, and sea thistles. In addition to the Sea Garden’s plant life, there are a range of visitors, both human and feathered, such as Pied Wagtails, Fulmars and Gulls, to name but a few.

The garden overlooks East Cliff Beach.

Finding the garden is simple. It is most visible from the clifftop promenade above the Eastern Undercliff along from the Granville Theatre. It is an idyllic corner which encourages quiet reflection and acknowledgement of our precious and distinct environment.
