What’s happening? 

The action-packed Active Ramsgate Week is set for Monday 25 May to Monday 1 June.

We’ll be showcasing the range of amazing activities Ramsgate has to offer throughout the May half-term break – from walking, cycling, water-sporting, exploring and many more. This year’s programme is better than ever – with over 20 different activities.

From family fun to new adventures – there’s something for all ages and experiences!

MONDAY 25 MAY

FAMILY YOGA WITH CHARLOTTE ELLIS 

A fun 60-minute session with local yoga instructor, Charlotte Ellis. Kids and parents welcome.

Main Sands 11 am ; 12 pm

MASSAGES 

Rejuvenate and recover with a one-hour massage in the heart of Ramsgate.

STAND-UP PADDLEBOARDING SKILLS BOOSTER

Super-boost your SUP skills! Open to those with their own board who want to take it to the next level.

ADULT BEACH YOGA

A welcoming 60-minute session with local yoga instructor, Charlotte Ellis.

POWER-KITE TASTERS

Feel the thrill of the wind with this hands-on, beach-based intro to handling power kites – as used by kitesurfers.

Enjoy the rides, slides and trampolines at Frankie’s beach funfair with a pack of 10 ride tokens for each family.

WEDNESDAY 27 MAY

PEGWELL BAY NATURE WALK

Discover the flora and fauna of our nature reserve – from majestic birds to beautiful butterflies – with this day walk.

SKATE BOARDING

Come learn the fundamentals of skateboarding, some basic skills & tricks, and even how to get rolling with Scorcha Skate School (8-14 years all abilities welcome)

Warre Recreation Grounds, 10 am ; 11 am; 12 – 1pm will be a drop in session no need to book for this one.

DISCOVER DISC GOLF!

Combining the best parts of golf, walking and the thrill of hitting the perfect shot, disc golf is fun and easy to learn. Come down to Warre Rec and give it a go for free!

THURSDAY 28 MAY

LEARN NORDIC WALKING

Learn Nordic Walking – a technique using poles for more of a workout , with one of these two walks with
Ramsgate Nordic Walking.
‘Heritage Harbour Walk’ 1-3pm
‘Dumpton Dawdle’ coastal walk from Ramsgate to Dumpton & back 4-6pm

Both walks start at the obelisk infront of Wetherspoons

SEASHORE SAFARI

Join Thanet Coast Project volunteers to explore the chalk reef and rockpools to see what shore and marine life we can find, suitable for ALL the family but particularly 4-14s.

FRIDAY 29 MAY

THIS BEAN SPINS TEACHES CIRCUS SKILLS!   

Hula hoops! Plate-spinning! Giant bubbles! What’s not to love…?  Your budding circus stars will have a whole heap of fun.  For kids aged 3+ (littlest ones need parental help!)

SCAVENGER HUNT WITH BEACH ART FOR FAMILIES 

Try the coastal scavenger hunt challenge, solve the clues and tackle the marine beach art challenge. Equipment provided by Thanet Coast Project, although you can bring your own spade! Suitable for children aged 4- 11 in family groups.

FRIDAY UNWIND…OUTDOOR SOUND BATH 

Join this multi-instrumental journey into sound — designed to guide you into deep rest and relaxation.

CYCLING WITH CONFIDENCE 

Colin of Col’s Kent Bike Tours will teach you basic bike and safety checks and take you on a traffic free route to build your confidence so you can relax and enjoy your bike ride.

Meet at Harbour Bikes, 10 am – 12 pm

PICKLEBALL IS BACK IN SPENCER SQUARE ! 

Pickleball is a fast-growing paddle sport that blends elements of tennis, badminton, and table tennis.

GIRL HIKE TO BROADSTAIRS ON THE SEA IT ALL TRAIL 

Girl Hike CIC is a feminist hiking collective based in Thanet. 

We believe that all women+ have the capacity to be outdoorsy, in whatever way works for them. Our mission is to help more women+ get out of their heads and into their bodies together in nature through joyful hiking experiences.

Meet at the red phone boxes infront of Wetherspoons 12 midday start – please allow 2 hours. One way only , 18 +, no dogs

 SUNDAY 31 MAY

ROYAL HARBOUR RICKSHAW RIDES

Take a tour around our harbour and its heritage with this unique experience on three wheels! Each ride is 30 mins.

SEA KAYAKING & SEALS TOUR

Join a 3-hour tour of our bay, riding the waves, learning about wildlife protection and safely spotting seals.

SELF GUIDED CYCLE RIDE – 6  FREE BIKE HIRES 

Enjoy any one of our local bike trails  –   6 free bike hires up for grabs.

What else should I know? 

Registrations for spaces close at 12:00 noon on Friday 22nd of May.

Spaces are limited, so participants will be selected by random prize draw.

Participants will be contacted and confirmed a week ahead of activities.
