Royal Victoria Pavilion

The Royal Victoria Pavilion (commonly referred to as the Royal Harbour Pavilion) is a historic, Grade II-listed landmark located on Harbour Parade in Ramsgate. Built in 1903 and designed by architect Stanley Davenport Adshead. The striking seaside architecture was inspired by a Robert Adam orangery, while the interior was loosely derived from the Little Theatre at Versailles. Initially serving as a beachfront concert hall and assembly rooms, it later evolved into a traditional seaside theatre, a cinema, a nightclub, and a casino before closing in 2008. It then spent nearly a decade derelict and at severe risk of decay. In 2017, the venue underwent a massive £4.5 million restoration by the pub chain JD Wetherspoon. It preserved original features like the high ceilings, grand staircase, and circular dormer windows.

Today it houses ‘Wetherspoon’s@The Royal Victoria Pavilion‘ (the largest Wetherspoon’s Pub in the UK) and ‘Papa’s Fish & Chips@The Royal Victoria Pavilion‘ a traditional Fish restaurant and takeaway, both venues have roof terraces and direct access to Ramsgate Main Sands.
