Ramsgate & District Horticultural Society Launches Inaugural Summer Show at Vale Square
Something fresh is blossoming in Ramsgate this August as the Ramsgate & District Horticultural Society (R&DHS) hosts its first ever Summer Show which will be a community celebration of all things homegrown and handmade.
Taking place on Saturday 30th August from 2 – 4.30pm in the beautiful Vale Square Gardens (CT11 9BX), the Summer Show promises to be a vibrant afternoon for residents and visitors alike. With a welcoming motto “If you make it, bake it or grow it, we want you to show it!”, the event invites everyone to take part, regardless of age or experience.
Linda Miller, Chair and Founder of R&DHS, explains:
“The Summer Show will be a lot of fun and in addition to having horticultural produce on display, we are delighted to be able to give local craftspeople and small businesses the opportunity to display and sell their wares. We are confident that people will be impressed by the range of good quality items they offer.”

Whether you’re entering your finest floral arrangements, prize-winning veg, delicious preserves or a handmade craft, there’s a category for everyone. It’s completely free to enter – just email ramsgatehorticulturalsociety@gmail.com by Friday 23rd August to confirm your entry and help organisers plan the space.
Adding an extra touch of sparkle to the day, local author Julie Wassmer, whose popular “Whitstable Pearl” novels have been adapted into a hit TV series, will be on hand to present the prizes.
🌸 Event Highlights Include:
- Free entry for all
- Light refreshments and local stalls
