Ramsgate International Film and TV festival

Ramsgate Film & TV Festival is Back!

After a 2-year hiatus when the organisers produced trailblazing online/digital events instead, we are delighted that the Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival (RITVF) is back in town and people can once again visit and enjoy over 180 films from around the globe.

We asked Sylvie Bolioli, the founder of RITVF, what people can expect at this year’s event which starts on 9th June and ends on 12th June.

‘After two years online, The Ramsgate International Film & TV Festival will finally take place in-person between June 9 – 12, followed on June 25 – 26 for the Fight Back Film Awards, which will coincide with Armed Forces Day.

This year, we will be screening over 180 films from 43 different countries with an interesting new category, the Experimental Feature Films.  This year, we have also seen an increase in films from Latin America and new countries entering such as Nepal, Montenegro, and the Dominican Republic. Also worth noting is an encouraging rise in the number of local films with 14 films from Kent filmmakers.

The festival will be complemented by informative talks and workshops from industry professionals, many of which are free. The festival has also worked hard to ensure as many venues as possible are accessible to those people with disabilities.

The Fight Back Film Awards, happening two weeks after the main festival, celebrates the work that ex-service men and women have created in their struggle to separate PTSD and other traumas, and re-integrate into society. We hope to encourage more veterans to use filmmaking and all its disciplines and that these awards will contribute to raising awareness on a section of the population who are often forgotten.

Finally, you’re probably aware that the only remaining cinema in Ramsgate has closed. Whilst we’re hoping for its reopening in the not-too-distant future, our screenings and talks will take place in various venues around Ramsgate which you can find here

The full programme is available on OUR WEBSITE  and you can also follow us on social media to find out more about RIFTVFest 2022 and the Fight Back Film Awards or contact us on info@ramsgateiftvfest.org – look forward to seeing you all there!’

We wish the RITVF team all the very best with their 2022 festival and hope lots of people come along to enjoy new films and of course, the wonderful hospitality Ramsgate has to offer!
